Designed for powerful residential use the Austin Air HealthMate 400 Air Purifier removes everyday odors allergens and chemicals over an impressive coverage area of 1500 square feet. With 15 Pounds of active chemicals the HealthMate 400 efficiently removes general odors chemicals and allergens with an active carbon and zeolite compound and a filter that only requires replacement approximately every five years. To facilitate maximum removal of impurities the HealthMate 400 is housed in perforated steel for 360 degrees of air intake into the motor. The matching filters included. It is available in black white sandstone and silver colors.

My husband has severe asthma and COPD; I have allergies. I wake up wheezing, stuffed up and sneeze all day long. The first morning after using the HealthMate overnight we both noticed a difference in how we slept and I had no morning allergy symptoms. I rarely sneeze. Low speed is very quiet. During the day I put the machine in the center of the living room and turn the speed to medium. The sound doesn't bother either of us. High speed is loud but still acceptable if there are many allergens in the house. My husband is feeling better inside the house now and is already talking about getting a junior version for his personal work space. If you have serious problems with all kinds of indoor allergens, you will notice a difference while running this machine. The price was rather high but worth it...because it really helps.

We use this primarily for dust mite control in a large bedroom. It moves easily on wheels and is fairly good looking. It is very windy and cold in the room when it's on, but I guess that means good air flow. Overall I am pleased.

I am very pleased with my Austin Air 400. It produces a lot of clean air on the high setting (too loud to sleep with) but the medium and low settigns are great. Low is not audible and med is perfect for sleep. I suffer from allergies and living in Dallas they are abundant. Noticed a difference the first night. Going to buy a second one for another room.

I did my homework and decided on the Austin Air Healthmate 400. It may not have some of the frills other machines have but somtime simple is better also less to go wrong. It is built very well, nice and sturdy, looks good, very easy to operate and a long life on the filter. If there is a negative it would be that it may not be quitest machine around, but I knew that going in and I do not have anything to compare it to. It is not that bad on low, we sleep with it on and it sounds like your furnace running, everything sounds a little louder when it is quite at night a drippy faucet will bother you if you let it, it is good white noise. The filter changes in 5 years, looks simple to do, I will let you know in 5 years. Not quite as pricey as some, Good Bag For Your Buck....Thumbs up on this one.

Delivery was prompt and in good condition. Customer service was GREAT!
There was alot of sites that "will match or beat prices", I am not buying a car here, they worked with me on the price, Heck, I also bought one for my office at work.
